Los Angeles, CA - Feb. 12, 2009 – Music legend Quincy Jones made an in store book signing appearance, at Borders Bookstore, in Westwood. For the next hour Jones shared with fans, peers and interviewer Goeff Boucher of the Los Angeles Times, his journey to becoming one of the worlds most noted musicians and producers and his new book “The Complete Quincy Jones: My Journey & Passion”.
Knowing the importance of music to our youth, communities, and society, Mr. Jones has been urging President Barack Obama to appoint a Secretary of Arts. With the U.S. having such a great influence to movies, tv, music, and theater, you have to ask, why is the US and Germany the only countries without an Ambassador of Arts.
New York musicians Jaima Austria, and Peter Weitzer have started an online petition to gain support for Quincy’s quest for an Ambassador of Music.
